Anita Szabo, K.C. brings over 35 years of distinguished experience in regulatory compliance, enforcement, and litigation to her role as Senior Associate Counsel at Lam Legal — Trial Lawyers. Prior to joining Lam Legal, she served as Crown Counsel and was a prosecutor for the City of Calgary, where she handled complex regulatory and enforcement matters.

Her legal practice spans a broad array of areas, with particular strength in municipal law. Anita has represented both local governments and individuals navigating bylaw infractions, advising on municipal governance, zoning, licensing, and enforcement issues. In civil litigation, she has acted on behalf of clients in disputes involving regulatory challenges, administrative appeals, and public law claims.

Anita’s professional journey also includes work in prosecuting federal offences (including breaches of national park regulations) and authoring investigative guidance for law enforcement. In recognition of her outstanding legal contributions, she was appointed Queen’s Counsel (now King’s Counsel).

Outside of her legal practice, Anita has contributed to legal education, served as in-house counsel in public sector roles, and maintained a client-first approach rooted in integrity, depth of knowledge, and advocacy.
