Robert Brian Dul

Associate Counsel

ROBERT BRIAN DUL

Rob was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2015, having already accumulated a substantial professional history in business, as well as a Masters of Business Administration. His extensive and varied career has taught him the financial practicalities required to grow a start-up, the relational skills to communicate with a range of stakeholders, and the analytical aptitude to make well-considered, objective decisions.

Prior to attending law school at the University of Victoria in 2012, Rob founded two successful, interrelated companies: EyeCatch Creative Corp., a public relations and marketing firm, and Health Task Inc., an American-based, business strategy firm.

Rob draws from both his experience as a lawyer – and as a client and entrepreneur, to advise, guide and grow his clients’ interests.

Rob is also deeply committed to his legal career. Since being called to the Bar, he has practiced civil litigation almost exclusively. He enjoys the strategy involved in litigation, whether from the plaintiff or defense side, that procures the most desirable outcome for the client. Although he appreciates that it is an adversarial process, he is encouraged by the contemporary infusion of positive sum techniques to help resolve disputes between parties.

Rob has actively pursued litigation and advocacy-related opportunities at law school to augment the skills he developed in the corporate arena. Rob was involved in the Business Law Clinic at UVic, which assisted clients with common business-related legal issues.

Rob was selected to represent UVic at the 2014 Gale Cup Moot, which simulated an appeal on a constitutional matter with a criminal component. For this, he was awarded the Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP Shield.

Further, at the University of Victoria, Rob earned top marks in Advanced Legal Research and Writing. He has also published in the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Review and presented a paper at the University of Windsor Law Student Conference on Legal and Social Issues.
